"This most recent artistic success in a classic ‘white’ ballet, for virtually sold-out houses, firmly establishes LAB as the completely credible and viable ballet company for which Los Angeles audiences have been waiting for decades."

Penny Orloff- CultureSpotLA/June 2009, writing about Los Angeles Ballet's May 2009 production of La Sylphide

Welcome to Los Angeles Ballet's fourth season! We would like to sincerely thank the Southern California community for its affection and support. Los Angeles Ballet thrives due to your patronage, our honored audience. Thank you.

The 2009/2010 Season will begin with LAB's original production of The Nutcracker, now a beloved Southern California holiday tradition. February/March 2010 brings Balanchine - ‘see the music, hear the dance’. Los Angeles Ballet dancers will show their skill and versaility in three of Balanchine's masterworks: Serenade (performed by LAB in 2007), Kammarmusik No.2, and Tchaikovsky Paino Concerto No. 2 . As a Repetiteur for the George Balanchine Trust, Co-Artistic Director Colleen Neary is one of the rarified few charged with carrying on the Balanchine legacy and genius. Balanchine’s mentorship of Colleen as a young dancer and repetiteur results in LAB’s superior interpretation of his masterworks.

Following Balanchine - ‘see the music, hear the dance’ in Feb/Mar, New Wave LA in May 2010 continues to realize Los Angeles Ballet's mission and vision. LAB's ongoing commitment to identify emerging Southern California choreographers and introduce these talented artists to the community will be evident in this full evening of original works. Also commissioned by LAB will be your favorite choreographers of screen and television... Look for the official announcement and press release later this fall.

The Second Annual LAB Choreographic Workshop will take place May 25th, 2010. The first annual presentation on May 26th, 2009 was a colossal success, selling out within 24 hours of its announcement. Los Angeles Ballet Artistic Directors Colleen Neary and Thordal Christensen conceived of this workshop process, firmly believing that it is the compulsory first step in developing programs such as New Wave LA

Please join us for this thrilling season.
