Director of Development

Kathy Highstrete joined Los Angeles Ballet’s administrative team with twelve years of progressive fundraising experience including over three years in leadership of the development office of the Orange County Performing Arts Center, most recently as Associate Vice President of Development. During an unprecedented period of challenge in OCPAC’s history, and in parallel with the $120 million Building on the Vision capital campaign and Grand Opening festivities for the new Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, Kathy led the department to successfully meeting an annual fund goal of $9.6 million. She worked closely with the 60-member Board of Directors, staffing the Board Development (nominating) Committee and the Annual Center Fund (fundraising) Committee. While overseeing the activities of directors of Foundations, Corporate Relations, Membership, Special Events and Support Groups, Kathy’s personal priority was the identification, cultivation and solicitation of gifts of $25,000 or more. Her accomplishments include multi-million dollar gift commitments, the recruitment of highly qualified Board members and a history of surpassing goals and fundraising capacity.

A devoted balletomane, Kathy’s most passionate efforts have been focused on the support and advancement of dance. While with the Orange County Performing Arts Center she was instrumental in developing a strong base of ardent dance supporters whose philanthropic gifts helped catapult the center’s International Dance Series to a level of worldwide esteem. It is Kathy’s fervent hope to be similarly impactful on the stability, growth, success and longevity of Los Angeles Ballet as Southern California’s premiere dance company.
