Co-Artistic Director Thordal Christensen announced the promotion of Ms. Noelle to LAB Principal Dancer at the curtain call of the December 17th 1 pm performance of The Nutcracker at Royce Hall, UCLA.

Los Angeles Ballet Awarded Grant from LA County Arts Commission
Los Angeles Ballet was awarded its first Los Angeles County Arts Commission
grant, in support of its 2012 production of Swan Lake. LAB is grateful to LACAC staff, and LA County Supervisors Gloria Molina, Zev Yaroslavsky, Mark Ridley-Thomas, Don Knabe, and Michael D. Antonovich, Mayor.

Los Angeles Ballet's Season5 Gala
Celebration | Broad Stage Santa Monica
Los Angeles Ballet’s May 28th Season5 Gala Celebration, co-chaired by Ghada Irani, Lori Milken and Jeanette Trepp, was a stunning success. The event, which raised nearly $500,000 for the company, followed immediately after a glorious performance of Giselle at the Broad Stage. The guests, including numerous area luminaries and long-time supporters of Los Angeles Ballet, enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres between acts of Giselle, and resumed the celebration after the final curtain with dining and festivities in the event pavilion. The dancers were welcomed by a resounding standing ovation as they found their seats. The pavilion, erected on the terrace of the Broad Stage, was transformed by designer Billy Butchkavitz; the elegant dinner menu was designed and prepared by Wolfgang Puck. Colleen Neary Stages Balanchine at The Mariinsky Ballet in Saint Petersburg
In her capacity as a a Répétiteur for The George Balanchine Trust, Los Angeles Ballet Co-Artistic Director, Colleen Neary traveled to Saint Petersburg, Russia to rehearse with The Kirov, now known as The Mariinsky Ballet, in June 2011. She worked with the company for 2 weeks on Balanchine's Ballet Imperial and Symphony in C which she staged for them in 2004 and 2008. The works were performed in the annual White Nights Festival, and on tour in London. This is Colleen's third trip to Saint Petersburg to work with the Mariinsky Ballet.

BCBGMAXAZRIA and Los Angeles Ballet Partner for an Exclusive Event
Los Angeles Ballet partnered with BCBGMAXAZRIA for an exclusive event at the Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills boutique on December 15, 2010. Guests met Los Angeles Ballet dancers Kelly Ann Sloan and Grace McLoughlin, and browsed the ballet-inspired Holiday 2010 collection. 15% of event proceeds went to support Los Angeles Ballet.

Opening Night Fundraiser for
Los Angeles Ballet
A special behind-the-scenes experience awaited the opening night event guests of Balanchine, 'see the music, hear the dance' at UCLA’s Freud Playhouse on February 20, 2010. Along with gourmet food and drink, they were treated to the opportunity to observe the company’s warm-up class and to share a preview of an exciting new film, “In Balanchine’s Classroom”. The evening was topped off in grand style by the electrifying Los Angeles Ballet performances of Serenade, Kammermusik No. 2, and Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.2.
