Los Angeles Ballet celebrates its 21st Season with a bold year of iconic masterworks, contemporary innovation, festive tradition, and unforgettable theatrical experiences. 

 

From the historic Hollywood Bowl to the magic of The Nutcracker, groundbreaking contemporary ballet by choreographers such as Jerome Robbins and Christopher Wheeldon, and the LAB premiere of the beloved classic Coppélia, the 2026/2027 Season showcases the extraordinary versatility of LAB’s artists and repertory.

World premiere  Barak | Ortiz

Los Angeles Ballet makes its debut at the iconic Hollywood Bowl with George Balanchine’s Who Cares? set to music by American Composer George Gershwin and a world premiere by Artistic Director Melissa Barak with music by one of Mexico’s foremost composers Gabriela Ortiz, performed by the LA Phil under Grammy-winning conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto.

In honor of America’s 250th birthday, American Icons celebrates groundbreaking dance and music by American artists. Featuring Melissa Barak’s Pretty, Peculiar Things, Jerome Robbins’ electrifying The Cage, and Paul Taylor’s playful Dilly Dilly, the program showcases bold innovation, abstract storytelling, and iconic American artistry.

A sparkling jewel of the classical repertory, Coppélia enchants with wit, romance, and dazzling technique. Set to Léo Delibes’s radiant score, this beloved comedy follows Swanilda as she uncovers the mystery behind Dr. Coppélius’s lifelike doll in a charming tale of illusion, mischief, and love.
